About Dr. Barry McCombs
Barry McCombs is the founder of the International Educators Society which supports international schools in their humanitarian and educational projects. His experience includes 10 years as a public school superintendent in Washington State and 13 years of service as the director of Colegio Nueva Granada, a prestigious private international school in Bogota, Colombia.
Barry McCombs has served as the president of the Tri-Association of American Schools in Central America, Mexico, Colombia and the Caribbean. In 2005 the Colombian government granted him citizenship in recognition of his work to improve the educational opportunities for disadvantaged children and in 2010 he was given the coveted Simon Bolivar Award for his contributions to education in that country. Dr. McCombs currently resides in Washington State and travels extensively as an educational consultant.
